About our sessions

What Is Sensory Play?

Sensory Play is an activity that stimulates and engages any of your child's senses including touch, smell, sight, movement, sound and taste. This has an important role in child's development.

Through sensory play children gain a deeper understanding of the world round them.

The many benefits of sensory play include:

  1. Cognitive Growth
  2. Development of fine and gross motor skills
  3. Calms anxious or frustrated children
  4. Teaches children sensory attributes - for instance: wet/dry, dark/light, rough/smooth
  5. Enhances memory

Nature can often be your best friend when it comes to sensory play!

Our Sessions

At our sessions children have the exploration of playing at their own lead. Weather they are squishing playdough between their fingers, splashing with water or listening to the trees rustling and the birds chirping. There are endless oppurtunites for their imaginations to run freely.

We have created our Nature play session in a space to connect with like minded parents, exploring in nature among the fresh air while watching our children create in a safe and calm environment with no technology.

(Please remember this is a parent supervised activity. Among The Wild Play does not take any responsibility for any children.)
